
ABOUT
Emily Lapisardi holds a Master of Music in Sacred Music from Duquesne University, where she studied organ with Dr. Ann Labounsky, and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from West Virginia University, where she was named a WVU Foundation Outstanding Senior, Honors College J. C. Nath Outstanding Senior, and received the university’s nomination for the Rhodes and Marshall Scholarships. She also holds certificates from the University of Notre Dame's online STEP program in Catholic Theology (Liturgy emphasis) and the NPM Organ Certification Program.
She is currently Director of Musical Activities at Most Holy Trinity Chapel, the Catholic chapel at the United States Military Academy (West Point, NY). She was previously music director at St. Paul Parish in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and executive director of Market Street Arts, an arts education center in Brownsville, Pennsylvania. She has also worked as an organist, pianist, and choral scholar for churches of several Protestant denominations.
Emily has attended the Church Music Association's Summer Chant Intensive and studied chironomy with Wilko Brouwers and Sr. Marie Agatha Ozah. Her organ teachers include J. Christopher Pardini, Dr. Ann Labounsky, Dr. Jason Keefer, and Dr. Isabelle Demers, with whom she studied through the AGO's POE+ summer program.
She has also participated in prestigious opera training programs including the Ezio Pinza Council for American Singers of Opera (Italy), American Institute of Musical Studies (Austria), and American Singers’ Opera Project (North Carolina). She sang for Andrew Lloyd Webber as part of the Richard Rodgers Awards and performed as a soloist at Kennywood Park with the Mon Valley Band. Emily is an active vocal pedagogue, a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and a licensed Kindermusik educator.
She has presented at numerous national and international conferences and received the Communal Studies Association’s research fellowship for her work on Harmonist hymnody.
Additionally, Miss Lapisardi founded the vocal music program and served on the board at Old Economy Village, where she was named Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission 2006 Volunteer of the Year.
She is a member of the American Guild of Organists, National Pastoral Musicians, American Choral Directors Association, National Association of Teachers of Singing, and Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society.
